Fedegari Autoclavi S.p.A. has launched an ambitious energy efficiency project aimed at decarbonizing and achieving greater energy autonomy for its production facility. The initiative, titled “Fedegari Campus – Energy Center Phase 1”, represents a strategic investment in industrial innovation and environmental sustainability, aligned with ESG principles and B Corp standards.

The project includes the integration of advanced technologies for the efficient production and management of energy, such as:

  • Installation of an 800 kWp photovoltaic system, with an annual output of approx. 1,000 MWh—over 80% of which will be self-consumed, with the remainder fed into the grid.
  • Replacement of outdated boilers with a new high-efficiency steam boiler (96% efficiency) to support production processes.
  • Installation of three heat pumps, including one geothermal unit, for heating purposes, replacing old gas-based systems.
  • Implementation of a BEMS (Building Energy Management System) for intelligent and centralized control of the plant’s overall energy consumption.

These interventions will lead to significant sustainability outcomes:

  • Reduction of CO₂ emissions by 406 tons/year, equivalent to 32% of the site’s total emissions.
  • Overall energy demand reduction of 808 MWh/year.
  • Greater energy independence and resilience to energy price fluctuations.

This project marks Phase 1 of a broader long-term plan, which includes Phase 2: the construction of a multi-functional water reservoir for agriculture and floating solar energy production—merging industrial development with local environmental enhancement.

With this initiative, Fedegari reaffirms its role as a regenerative industrial model, able to combine innovation, competitiveness, and environmental responsibility.
